How to apply for a visa at the French Consulate General in Brussels

►You must be resident in the Benelux (your residency permit must have been issued more than 3 months before your application date)

►You must hold a valid and recognized passport /travel document (your passport / travel document must have been issued within the last 10 years and have at least 12 months validity left).

►You cannot submit your application more than 3 months before your planned date of departure. We suggest that you allow at least 15 days for visa processing.

How to apply :

- Complete the forms online according to your situation (see application forms) and double check that your file includes all the documents.
- Book an appointment on our website (only). Appointments are compulsory and cannot be made by phone or at the Consulate General’s reception desk.
- You must apply in person, except children under the age of 12.
- Due to the introduction of biometric visas, your fingerprints and picture will be registered.
- Visa application fees must be paid during the application, and are non-refundable (link fees)

1 - Processing time
It may vary according to the type of visa and the applicant’s nationality. Please note that the visa section does not keep your passport.

2 - Visa collection
The visa section will inform you by e-mail as soon as the application process is over.
